Marketers spend an average of between 60 and 90 minutes making blog posts 500 words. That's a lot of time spent on only one post that is shorter than average. All times can be easily wasted if posts don't drive traffic and no one reads them.

2. Use visuals.

Infographics, videos, images. Today's content can be more than just words on the page. Yes, it takes more time to put together great visuals with contextual posts, but when done correctly, ROI can be astronomical. See what I did above with my colleague? Use an example. Your opinion is very valuable, but life experiences and real-world examples are very valuable. Try to back up your writing by quoting sources, using case studies, quoting experts, and using as many types of examples as possible. This will help build authority for you, your position and brand.

• SEO: Optimize your posts to rank for long tail keywords so that when people search, they find you.
• Syndication / contribution: Whenever possible, syndicate your content to other websites, and also, don't be afraid to donate unique content to third-party websites to grow your followers.
• Write regularly: Over time, you will grow followers on your blog through the channels above and through the people who check back on your site. But make sure you keep updating your readers regularly.

This is usually the area where new bloggers struggle. If you succeed in doing these things correctly, over time, your blog posts no longer feel like homework, and you will benefit from regular blogging.
